Hypnosis

Hypnosis is such a valuable tool to change undesired behavior, explore subconscious beliefs and create positive outcomes in:

  • stress management

  • pain relief

  • weight release

  • pre and post surgery

  • focus and concentration

  • fear and phobias

  • academic success

  • And so much more!

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. Not sleep, but rather a heightened state of awareness, more focused and yet profoundly relaxed. We go into self-hypnosis throughout our day.

For example, have you ever found your mind wandering while driving? Perhaps you missed your turn. Of course, you knew you were driving, but your mind was busy fantasizing or creating ingenious ideas. You were on “automatic pilot” or in “highway hypnosis”.

This happens naturally when we enter into an alpha state, which we do quite frequently throughout our day. We oscillate back and forth from being in a fully conscious state (beta), to a more relaxed and highly focused state (alpha) when we meditate, daydream, create, and engage in more of an intuitive right brain activity. This alpha state is where we learn the best and receive terrific inspiration. It will feel very much like you are imagining...and yet when we imagine, in truth, we are receiving inspired information.

We can even relax deeper, going naturally into a (theta) state. This is altered state feels deeply relaxing, and the focus and concentration is amazing. You have experienced this every time you woke up from a deep sleep and wanted to be the director of your dream in order to finish it your way. It is in the time between being fully awake and still half asleep. During (theta) you can easily access higher states of awareness.

This is why almost anyone can be hypnotized, because we are in and out of hypnosis every day. The more you daydream or meditate, the easier it is to flow in to hypnosis. This is because of your ability to focus and concentrate.

You are very much aware of your surroundings, feelings, thoughts, etc. Again, hypnosis is a natural feeling, and a gift we all possess. All hypnosis is truly self-hypnosis. A trained hypnotist can easily induce these altered states to enable you to relax and retrieve the answers, clarity or help that you seek.

Q & A Anchor
  • Is hypnosis safe? Absolutely. It is a natural part of our daily occurrence.

  • Can I be forced into hypnosis? No. Your full cooperation is needed in order to become hypnotized.

  • Will I lose control or become under the spell of the hypnotist? Absolutely not. Again, you are very much aware of your surrounding and will know everything that is happening. No one can force you to do anything against your will. You choose to either take the suggestion in or not.

  • Will I reveal any secrets? No. Hypnosis is not a truth serum. You choose what you want to reveal.

  • Could I get stuck in hypnosis? No. Many enjoy the relaxed feeling so much that they are reluctant to return to their normal state of awareness. However, everyone does return as soon as they are ready. If you are determined to stay in the hypnotic state, you will enter into natural sleep, and awaken shortly after feeling relaxed and refreshed as if you took a nice nap.

  • How many sessions will I need? All sessions are individualized and uniquely tailored to your needs. Therefore, it is wise to be open and trust your judgement. You may want 1, 3 or 6 sessions. It is totally up to you.
